The Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Australia H.E. Jana Tyrer, the President of the Legislative Council of the Parliament of New South Wales the Honourable Ben Franklin and the State Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Mr Crispin Conroy, all gave speeches. 

The Czech Glass Exhibition, which President Franklin himself was the Parliamentary sponsor for, traces the significant milestones of Czech glassmaking and presents the beauty of Czech glass manufacturing to the wider public. The exhibits include pieces of Czech crystal, glass products by the company Moser, enamelled glass and ruby glass. Contemporary glass jewellery made with wound-bead technique and traditional Christmas decorations are also displayed. The exhibition also offers examples of current Czech glass design projects, specifically produced by the company Lasvit, who contributed visualisations of several of their projects for display. 

The event was attended by members and senators of the Parliament of New South Wales, Australian officials and organisation representatives, members of the Consular Corps, representatives of the Czech community in Australia and other personalities from public and cultural life in Australia. 

The Czech Glass Exhibition will be on display in the Fountain Court of the Parliament of New South Wales throughout the month of October 2025.
