Meeting of Czech Honorary Consuls in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania (Sydney, July 2025)

The meeting of Honorary Consuls of the Czech Republic in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania took place on 3 and 4 July 2025 at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Sydney. 

The meeting, which was organized by the Consulate General in Sydney, was attended by the honorary consuls from Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Auckland, Queenstown and Nuku’alofa (the Kingdom of Tonga), the Ambassador of the Czech Republic Jana Tyrer, the Consul-General of the Czech Republic in Sydney Zuzana Slováková. Other representatives of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Sydney, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Canberra and the Sydney branch of CzechTrade, as well as the candidate for the position of Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Adelaide, also took part in the meeting.

The two-day meeting focused on pertinent questions regarding preparations for the upcoming elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, in which, for the very first time, postal voting will be possible, as well as the practicalities of carrying out consular services and communicating with the Czech and international community, opportunities for improving mutual trade and fostering public diplomacy initiatives.
