FORMEX is the largest Scandinavian design and interior decoration trade fair, which took place at the Stockholm Exhibition Center from 23 to 26 August 2017. The fair is not open to the public and is designed exclusively for representatives of companies, purchasers, design studios, and media professionals. The fair attracted over 900 exhibitors and almost 25,000 visitors this year. Sweden is considered a design power and FORMEX is one of the world's leading events.
Czech Republic and the Czech companies have participated at Formex for the first time thanks to the contribution from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (project of economic diplomacy). A single stand has been arranged by Czech Centers and CzechTourism Agency.
The centerpiece of the Czech stand represented the exposition Handmade Dreams, which featured the best of Czech jewelry and glass processing. The exposition presented products of nine companies: AAC, G & B bijoux, LLEV, Odvárka Bijoux, Preciosa Beauty, Preciosa Ornela, Ralton, Šenýr Bijoux and Zorya. Representatives Ralton, G & B bijoux, Šenýr Bijoux and LLEV attended the fair, others were represented in a form of catalogs and other materials. Presentation of Czech companies was also available in the online catalog of the exhibition, incuding detailed information about the products and the history of Czech crystal and jewelery (in Swedish only).
The Czech stand enjoyed considerable attention and, above all, allowed Czech companies to meet Swedish professional public, representatives of design studios and purchasers. Some of the companies present are not new to the Swedish market. For example, Ralton or LLEV has already made some inroads into Swedish retail market.
On Friday, August 25, 2017 Czech Embassy in Stockholm in cooperation with Czech Centers and CzechTourism held a glass of wine which offered informal environment for meetings with representatives of Swedish companies and design studios.
