Online presentation of Czech healthcare companies in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic

On July 28, 2020, an online presentation of three Czech companies in the field of production and export of medical devices took place in connection with the current crisis with the COVID-19 pandemic. The presentation took place using the Microsoft Teams application due to the current problematic situation and the limited possibilities of personal meetings. The aim of the event was to help Czech exporters establish contacts with representatives of Bulgarian institutions, associations and companies so that they could negotiate specific cooperation on the local market.

The Department of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, in cooperation with Czech embassies abroad, has recently launched a new service to support Czech exporters abroad in the current difficult situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, with various restrictions on traveling and meeting partners in foreign countries. This is a so-called online project of economic diplomacy, where instead of a regular event with the personal participation of Czech companies, a specific embassy in the country of interest together with the Department of Economic Diplomacy will prepare a presentation using the computer application Microsoft Teams. Czech companies thus have the opportunity to remotely present their products to selected partners in the given country, whose invitation will be provided by the local Czech embassy. Thus, in addition to presentations, foreign partners can ask specific questions and establish contacts with potential Czech business counterparts.

During today's presentation for Bulgarian government partners (eg the Ministry of Health or the State Material Reserves Administration), associations and individual companies, the Czech companies NANO4FIBERS, TRILAB and WorkPress Aviation presented the latest products designed to combat the coronavirus pandemic in the world. These are innovative means of protection for the most vulnerable groups of the population, such as health professionals, police officers, firefighters, but also salespeople and many other professions, seniors and other target groups. The NANO4FIBERS company develops and helps to apply membranes based on nanofibers (they can be used, for example, in protective masks, respirators, etc.), as well as devices for independent application of nanofibers on various materials. TRILAB has developed and manufactures protective shields that increase the safety of the most vulnerable in the current crisis caused by the spread of coronavirus infection. WorkPress Aviation comes to the market with a range of nanomasks with the highest degree of protection against coronavirus, which can be used repeatedly, sterilized, etc.

After the presentations of the above products, the Bulgarian participants were able to ask specific questions to the representatives of Czech companies and it was clear from their interest that the presentation of the results of their intensive work, research and development created a good precondition for further negotiations and possible cooperation. Bulgaria, like the Czech Republic, is currently taking measures to ensure a sufficient supply of protective equipment to combat COVID-19, so the timing of the presentation was very important.

Due to the positive response and interest on both sides, the embassy in Sofia plans to repeat similar presentation events again at the turn of summer and autumn. Those interested in participating in this way are invited to contact us at the email address commerce_sofia@mzv.cz.
