First Bulgarian-Czech Chamber of Commerce established in Sofia

Ten private companies with active links to the Czech Republic have joined forces to establish the first Bulgarian-Czech Chamber of Commerce. The new organisation will be headed by Mr Maxim Behar, a well-known Bulgarian PR expert and long-time friend of the Czech Republic. The Vice-President will be Mr Georgi Petkov, who represents the interests of BTL Industries in Bulgaria.
 

The founders and initial members of the Chamber include Ata-Tandem Ltd, Biofrog CZ Ltd, Ecospot Consulting Ltd, Euratek Ltd, M3 Communications Group, Inc, Peterka & Partners Law Office, Renomia Ltd, Sofia Bull Ltd, Tiera Verde Bulgaria Ltd.

The ceremony took place at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Sofia as part of the celebrations of the 106th anniversary of the establishment of the independent Czechoslovak state. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of European Affairs of the Czech Republic, Mr Martin Dvořák, and the Czech Ambassador to Bulgaria, Mr Miroslav Toman. 

Speaking on the occasion, the President of the Chamber, Maxim Behar, expressed his conviction that: "the Bulgarian-Czech Chamber of Commerce will become an important factor in developing mutual relations between our countries. We will work actively to strengthen existing business relations and create a favourable environment for mutual investments. I believe that together we can achieve many successes and open new opportunities for business in both Bulgaria and the Czech Republic".

According to the Czech Ambassador to Bulgaria, Miroslav Toman, the establishment of the Chamber is: "an important event for Bulgarian-Czech relations, which will undoubtedly contribute to even better cooperation between the two countries. I would like to thank all those who have contributed to the creation of this initiative, and especially Mr Maxi Behar, the main initiator. I and the entire Embassy team will support you wholeheartedly in this endeavour".

The Bulgarian-Czech Chamber of Commerce brings together Bulgarian and Czech companies that are already successfully doing business or are interested in doing business in both countries. The aim of the Chamber is to facilitate business relations between the two countries, to support Czech companies wishing to invest in Bulgaria and Bulgarian companies interested in entering the Czech market. The organisation aims to become a bridge between the business community and the governments of both countries and will strive to create a more favourable business environment and open up new opportunities for cooperation.

The main activities of the Bulgarian-Czech Chamber of Commerce include

  • Consulting services - providing professional advice to Czech and Bulgarian companies.
  • Market analysis - detailed analysis of specific sectors of the Bulgarian and Czech markets.
  • Business events - organisation of conferences, business forums and other events aimed at establishing business contacts.
  • Cultural support - promotion of cultural initiatives and dissemination of information on education and training opportunities in the Czech Republic.
