Modern technologies aimed at improving the quality of life in cities and towns became the central theme of an economic diplomacy project (PROPED), implemented by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bulgaria with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and in close cooperation with the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria (NAMRB).
Through this initiative, representatives of Czech companies had a unique opportunity to present their innovative solutions to experts in transport and digitalization at the Sofia Municipality, as well as at the city hall of Bulgaria’s second-largest city, Plovdiv.
The highlight of the programme was a joint presentation delivered in front of more than 50 senior representatives of Bulgarian municipalities. This took place on 14 May 2026 as part of a conference entitled “Digital and Energy Transition of Bulgarian Cities and Municipalities,” organized by NAMRB. According to the Chairman of the Association, Mr. Ergin Emin the event:
“… brought together representatives of municipalities, experts, companies, and organizations from Bulgaria and the Czech Republic, laying the foundations for a valuable platform that will enable the sharing of practical experience, innovative approaches, and principles of effective local governance between the two countries in the future.”
The business mission, held from 12 to 15 May 2026, included representatives of seven Czech companies (AGDATA s.r.o., AŽD Praha s.r.o., DATAB Consult s.r.o., Forscope a.s., GORDIC Group s.r.o., SOR Libchavy s.r.o., and Z.L.D. s.r.o.). The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Sofia would like to use this opportunity to express its sincere gratitude to all partners in Sofia and Plovdiv for their invaluable assistance in organizing the entire event.
