The Czech Minister for European Affairs, Martin Dvořák, visited Bulgaria on 29 and 30 October 2024. His programme included meetings with Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov, Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Boyko Borisov and Chairman of the National Assembly's European Affairs Committee Kirill Petkov.
The visit took place just two days after the early parliamentary elections, making the Minister the first senior foreign official to meet the leaders of Bulgaria's two strongest political parties after the results were announced. The main topics of the meeting were the post-election situation and prospects for the formation of the new government, the assessment of mutual relations between the Czech Republic and Bulgaria, cooperation at the European level, including the Czech Republic's support for the completion of Bulgaria's accession to the Schengen area, and the issue of the introduction of the euro.
