The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bulgaria and the Czech Centre Sofia are pleased to invite you to the dance performance of Ukrainian dancer Yana Reutova on February 19, 2025 (Wednesday), at 5 PM at the Czech Centre Sofia. The event is an expression of support for Ukrainian artists and the entire Ukrainian nation.
The talented Yana Reutova is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher born in the Ukrainian town of Chornomorsk. From 2013 to 2022, she was the director of the Plastilin Dance Theatre in her native Ukraine and created several award-winning performances. In 2022, she moved her life and art to Prague, fleeing the war with her daughter and several of her students.
Yana Reutova's extensive CV includes performances at the Tanec Praha Festival, One Dance Festival Bulgaria, the City Horses and Still Alive projects, and many others. Yana also teaches children in her project Dance with Play and choreographs the children’s interactive performances On the Road and Childhood Time. She also choreographed the triptych Together Alone, the duet Womanhood, and the project Beauty in Strength, Strength in Beauty. After moving to the Czech Republic, Yana Reutova began working closely with Tanec Praha and Ponec Theatre.
About her art, Yana says, “The most important thing in my work is not to convey an opinion, but to share a feeling. The question I always ask myself is: What can people feel after viewing my work? I pay special attention to the study of art therapy techniques, which I can use for different ages.”
The young and talented Ukrainian dancer Yana arrives in Bulgaria at the invitation of Bulgarian choreographer Yanitsa Atanasova. The event is organized by the Czech Centre Sofia and is supported by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bulgaria, the Embassy of Ukraine in Bulgaria, and SOR Libchavy spol. s.r.o.
