Consular Information

The Consular Department of the Embassy of the Czech Republic is authorized for the following agendas:

  • Visa agenda – requests for short-term visas, long-term visas, employee cards and residence permits on the territory of the Czech Republic.

The requests for short-term (up to 90 days) visa are only accepted for the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. The citizens of the Republic of Macedonia are allowed to have short-term travels on the territory of the Czech Republic, as well as the Schengen states, without a visa.

  • Consular services for the citizens of the Czech Republic – issuing of travel documents, help in emergency cases, information regarding travelling on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia.
  • Citizenship agenda – especially requests and questionnaires for citizenship determination.
  • Registry agenda especially requests for issuing of birth, marriage and death certificates; registering marriages, registering births, issuing of duplicate registry documents etc.
  • Legalization agenda – especially verification of signatures and copies.

The agreement on mutual acknowledgement of public documents is in force between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Macedonia, certifying that the public document issued from the one party is acknowledged on the territory of the other party without the need of further certification. The public documents issued by the state institutions of the Czech Republic are acknowledged on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia without the need of higher certification (Superlegalization, Apostille) and vice-versa.

  • Election agenda – the Department makes the electoral roll of the citizens that are allowed to vote for the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and for the president of the Czech Republic.

The requests for the citizenship and registry agenda are sent for processing to the relevant institutions in the Czech Republic and their processing lasts for usually 8 weeks.

Appointments for filing requests for visa are only made by telephone on the telephone number: +389 2 / 3081 200, from Monday – Thursday from 13:00 till 15:00, or by e-mail: Consulate_Skopje@mzv.cz.

The Emergency telephone, which is to be used by citizens of the Czech Republic that have an emergency on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia, is continuously available and could be reached at 00-389/70-238-012. If dialing from a landline phone on the territory of the Republic of Macedonia or from a mobile phone registered on its territory you should only dial  070-238-012.
