The International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice was officially opened on 7. 5. 2013 at the premises of the Memorial Center of the Holocaust for the Jews of Macedonia. The exhibition was proclaimed opened by Deputy Ambassador Milan Fischer along with the Director of the Memorial Center Goran Sadikario.
The International Children’s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice (http://www.mdvv-lidice.cz/en/) was established in 1967 to commemorate the children victims from the Czech village of Lidice murdered by German Nazis, as well as all other children who have died in wars. Although initially national, this exhibition became international in 1973 and since then it has become well known among children and teachers not only in our country, but literally all over the world. In these last few years, more than 25,000 high quality works of art have been sent regularly by children from the whole world and Macedonia is one of the traditional participants of the Exhibition.
