The fourth edition of FIND – Design Fair Asia offered an exceptional opportunity not only to showcase Czech design but also to celebrate cultural cooperation between the Czech Republic and Singapore.
Between 11 and 13 September 2025, the fourth edition of FIND – Design Fair Asia took place at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. As one of the main pillars of Singapore Design Week, the event attracted over 300 exhibitors from around the world and became a significant platform for presenting innovation, creativity, and craftsmanship in design across Southeast Asia.
Among the exhibitors, the Czech Pavilion stood out, presenting a carefully curated collection from nine renowned Czech brands: Artisème, Halama Glass, HUNAT, mmcité, Pačinek Glass, PETROF, Sans Souci Lighting, Signati & Comenivs, and RAVAK.
Organized by the CzechTrade Promotion Agency, the pavilion offered visitors a unique blend of modern approach and traditional craftsmanship – hallmarks of Czech design.
SG60 Celebration: Czech-Singapore Glassmaking Collaboration
To mark the 60th anniversary of Singapore’s independence (SG60), the FIND – Design Fair Asia featured a remarkable collaboration between Czech glassmaker Jiří Pačinek and Singaporean artist Guangjun Kung. Together, they created a glass sculpture inspired by the orchid, the national flower of Singapore, as a symbol of cultural exchange and artistic dialogue between the two countries.
The artists met during last year’s edition of FIND Design Fair and, just one year later, unveiled their joint creation. The final touches to the artwork were made on Tuesday, 9 September, at Tombalek workshop in Singapore, in the presence of selected media representatives. Journalists not only observed the glassmakers at work but also had the chance to try glassblowing themselves and take home their handmade pieces as souvenirs.
The final artwork and its creative process, from initial concept to final realization, were presented during a FIND – Global Summit on Friday, 12 September. The discussion was held with the support of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Singapore, Czech Trade Promotion Agency, Universal Success Enterprises Limited and dmg events.
Panel participants included: H.E. Dana Baschová, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Singapore; Radomil Doležal, Director General of Czech Trade Promotion Agency; Carl Constantin Press, Event Director of FIND – Design Fair Asia; Jana Leong-Škorničková, Keeper of Herbarium and Principal Researcher at the Singapore Botanic Gardens; Jiří Pačinek, Founder of Pačinek Glass; and Guangjun Kung, Director of Tombalek. The discussion was moderated by Ladislav Graner, Director of CzechTrade Singapore.
At the conclusion of the panel, the glass orchid Vanda Miss Joaquim was ceremoniously handed over to its new owners, Mr. and Mrs. Mukherjee.
The Czech Republic’s repeated participation confirms the importance of this event for showcasing the country’s global design excellence. The Czech Pavilion not only impressed with the aesthetic quality of its exhibits but also highlighted deep expertise, innovation, and the courage to push creative boundaries.
The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Singapore thanks all partners who contributed to the successful presentation of Czech design and looks forward to next year’s edition.
