Cybersecurity as the main topic of dialogue between Singaporean and Czech companies and academics

From 18 October to 21 October 2022, the Project of Economic Diplomacy elected cybersecurity as its main topic, a field Czechia has a lot to offer Singapore, which is the regional and global leader. PROZETA and COMPELSON, together with the Brno University of Technology, the Czech Technical University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno and the Cyber Security Hub CZ presented to their Singaporean partners at the GovWare 2022 commercial and professional event as well as bilateral activities.
GovWare 2022 is Asia's largest cybersecurity event, a part of Singapore International Cyber Week. It showcases current and future developments in cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions to strengthen individual company defences, address real cyber threats and identify significant business and other opportunities. That is why innovative Czech entities could not miss this event.
The Czech Embassy in Singapore, in cooperation with CzechTrade office, organised several activities focused on networking between Czech and Singaporean entities, above all a networking event opened by the Deputy Foreign Minister Mr Martin Dvořák. Here, companies and academics could not only taste Czech Pilsner Urquell beer, but also introduce a discussion on joint projects or commercial opportunities.
Companies and academics were able to present themselves not only at the GovWare 2022 exhibition area, but also in the framework of professional conferences, and academics were able to visit the Singapore International Cyber Week event, where the Czech Presidency and the European ESIWA project presented a separate event co-organised with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore on the topic of state responsibility in cyberspace.
As part of project, the academics also visited the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University cyber security research centres, which populate the leading places in the world's top university rankings, and the Singapore University of Technology and Design. The companies had separate meetings with major system integrators such as ST Engineering (Cybersecurity Services), Singtel as well as companies such as Simba, PCS Security, Ensign InfoSecurity, M.Tech, Lenovo and others.
