Ambassador Dana Baschová, together with Oleg Fetisov, opened the meeting with a short welcome address, emphasizing the importance of student exchanges for relations between the Czech Republic and Singapore, whether in the form of inter-university or scientific cooperation, or cultural and personal exchange. Both expressed their gratitude to the participants for their interest in maintaining ties with the Czech Republic and supporting cooperation between the two countries in the field of education. This meeting marked the first step toward building an active community of Singaporean alumni with Czech experience.

The alumni meet-up provided an excellent opportunity for Singaporean and Czech students to get to know each other. Participants were able to share their experiences of studying both in the Czech Republic and in Singapore. They exchanged stories not only with fellow students but also with the Ambassador and the team of the Czech Embassy in Singapore. Through refreshments such as traditional Czech sandwiches / chlebíčky, bábovka cake, goulash, and Czech beer and wine, participants could reminisce about the Czech Republic, whether as their home or as a fond memory from the past.

The entire event took place in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, thanks to all those who attended. We would like to thank them once again for their participation and for creating such a pleasant environment.
