The Czech Embassy in Seoul participated in the 2025 Seoul Friendship Festival held from May 24 to 25, 2025, at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP). Hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, the event brought together embassies and cultural centers from 67 countries, offering citizens a chance to experience global cultures through traditional food, performances, and interactive exhibits.
At the festival, the Czech Embassy operated booths in the Embassy Zone, Food Zone, and Dessert Zone, showcasing the Czech Republic’s rich culinary culture. Visitors enjoyed the renowned Czech lager, Pilsner Urquell, and traditional honey cake, Marlenka. A cooking video by Ambassador’s spouse Andrea Jančárková featuring authentic Czech recipes was also presented, providing guests with a taste of homemade Czech cuisine.
Many visitors to the Czech booth took the opportunity to learn more about the country’s tourist destinations, study opportunities, and cultural exchange programs. Engaging conversations and cultural connections made the booth a vibrant platform to promote not only Czech culture but also the shared values of European unity and international friendship.
The Czech Embassy expressed its gratitude to the City of Seoul for organizing such a meaningful event and to all the citizens who visited the booth. The Embassy looks forward to continuing its cultural diplomacy efforts and deepening the ties between Czechia and Korea through similar initiatives in the future.
