On 27 September 2021, the Head of the Representative Office Petr Starý met in Ramallah with Amal Jadou, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Palestine. They discussed the current state of the Czech-Palestinian relationship, in particular in the area of trade and development cooperation, as well as the possibilities of its future development.
Petr Starý informed Amal Jadou about recent activities in the field of development cooperation, especially the handover of the newest model of a fire truck of Czech production to the Palestinian Civil Defence in Bethlehem, which took place in July this year in the presence of the leaders of both the Bethlehem Governorate and the Palestinian Civil Defence. The Czech Republic also finances small-scale development projects in Palestine; this year’s project includes purchase of equipment, also partly of Czech origin, for a rehabilitation hospital in Beit Jala, close to Bethlehem. The Czech Republic intends to continue its development activities in the coming year, and the Representative Office is planning activities to support trade relations and diversification of Czech exports as well - currently, passenger cars make up the absolute majority of the Czech exports to Palestine.
