Meeting with the Palestinian Minister of Health

The Deputy Head of the Representative Office of the Czech Republic, Mr. Pavel Bobek, met with Dr. Mai Alkaila, the Minister of Health of Palestine to discuss opportunities for bilateral cooperation in the health sector.
The meeting took place as a follow up to the visit of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Martin Tlapa, to Palestine in June 2019.
In the past several years, the Czech Republic has supported the Palestinian health sector through development projects in several hospitals and health centers. Further support within the development cooperation framework and with the help of Czech companies that are interested in exporting medical technologies and equipment to Palestine, is currently being prepared.
Minister Alkaila appreciated the Czech support and interest to continue the bilateral cooperation in this field. The Palestinian health sector requires further international support to reach the medical standards set by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
