
Czechia will equip hospital in Bethlehem in the framework of the Reconstruction programme in the Middle East region

On the 11 August 2022, the Head of the Representative Office of the Czech Republic Jakub Šlosárek and the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Palestine Michele Bowe signed a contract concerning a tied financial donation. In the Framework of the Reconstruction programme of the Czech Republic in the Middle East region for the period 2022-2024, the Maltese hospital of the Holy Family in Bethlehem will receive medical equipment made by Czech manufacturers.
The Holy Family Hospital in Bethlehem is a maternity hospital specialized in high-risk pregnancies and premature births and serves as a reference hospital for the entire south part of the West Bank. It takes care of patients from the most disadvantaged and poorest environment, which is important more than ever in the pandemic-hit Bethlehem region. Czechia has been working with the hospital for a long time, in the framework of the Czech development cooperation, solar panels were installed on the hospital roof in the past. This year, the hospital will receive the necessary equipment from Czech manufacturers at a cost of more than 6 million Czech crowns.
