Representatives of Czechia and Botswana signed in Pretoria on the 29 October an Agreement for avoidance of double taxation and tax evasion related to income tax. Signing of the agreement completed years of endeavours of authorized negotiators of both parties and therefore sended out a positive message with regards to obligations related to the needs of their steadily growing mutual trade exchange.
The agreement was signed on the premises of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Pretoria. The signing itself was preceded by so called “technical reading“ during which both representatives exchanged their authorizations. On behalf of Czechia the agreement was signed by H.E. Mr Michal Král, Ambassador, and his Botswana counterpart was H.E. Mr Lameck Nthekela. The agreement clearly proves the good relations between the two countries as well as their growing trade exchange observed in last couple of years. Czech export to Botswana reached in 2018 CZK 27 million and is expected to grow further. Main opportunities to be pursued lie within sectors of energy, water management, mining, and health care.
