Dita Pepe is an inspiring Czech photographer who was in 2012 awarded the title „The Personality of the Czech Photography“ by the Association of Czech professional photographers.
She uses self-portraits to explore ideas of how personal identity seems to change dramatically in relationship to different people in our lives and surrounding circumstances. Dita Pepe was offered a month-long residency in the jozi art:lab. The programme is run by the kunst:raum foundation headed by Ms. Indra Wussow. During her stay in South Africa, Dita Pepe made a series of self-portraits with people from different walks of life. On April 9, Ambassador Blanka Fajkusová and her Deputy Nicol Adamcová met Dita Pepe and her close collaborator Petr Hrubeš at the jozi art:lab.
