Availability of financial means for a short-term stay on a Schengen visa must be proved by the submission of:
- document confirming the existence of sufficient funds, both for the subsistence for the duration of the expected stay, as well as for the return to the country of origin or residence or for the transit to a third country where the applicant has a guaranteed admission or is able to obtain funds in a legal manner;
- document confirming the payment for services connected with the foreigner's stay in the territory or a document confirming that the services will be provided free of charge;
- 'Invitation' form certified by the Foreign Police Service.
Amount of funds:
If the intended stay does not exceed 30 calendar days, the applicant must provide evidence of financial means in the amount of 0.5 times the subsistence minimum (subsistence minimum is CZK 2,490) for each day of stay, i.e. CZK 1,245 per day.
If the intended stay exceeds 30 days, the applicant must provide evidence of 15 times the amount of the subsistence minimum (subsistence minimum is CZK 2,490), whereby this amount is increased by 2 times the amount of the subsistence minimum, i.e. CZK 4,980, for each full month of the intended stay in the territory;
Proof of sufficient funds can be provided by the following means:
- bank statement together with an international payment card, or
- proof of third-party financing/sponsorship.
An applicant who has not reached the age of 18 must provide proof of half the amount of the above specified amounts for the stay.
