Benefition Concert in support of Haiti

On Wednesday, February 3, 2010, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Embassies of Slovakia, Poland and Hungary in Ottawa (so-called Visegrad Four) organised a beneficion concert in support of victims of earthquake in Haiti.
The special evening took place in Grand Hall at Ashbury College in Ottawa. Among 300 guests were representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, diplomatic corp, local communities, students of Ashbury College and their families and many more fans of classical music.
The program featured music by A. Dvořák, L. van Beethoven, F. Chopin, J. Brahms presented by the pianists Zuzana Šimurdova and Mikolaj Warszynsky from Montreal and Gábor Finta and Edit Palencsar from Ottawa. We would like to thank to all performers for a great evening and to all our guests for a great financial support - the total summ collected during the concert was 5 446 CAD!, all proceeds went to the Humanitarian Coalition.
