On the 23rd of September, the Czech language department participated in the event Long Night of LiteratureS at Instituto Cervantes. Czech Visiting Lecturer Veronika Resslova read excerpts from texts by Václav Havel and interacted with the audience.
She introduced an excerpt from the speech A Word About Words, written shortly before the fall of the socialist regime in 1989. She also presented two excerpts from the book Letters to Olga, the collection of letters sent by Václav Havel to his wife from prison where he spent almost four years between May 1979 and March 1983 as a “prisoner of conscience” of the communist régime. The Czech language department at Long Night of LiteratureS (JPEG, 116 KB)
