Czech National Day Reception 2015

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Delhi hosted the National Day Reception in celebration of the 97th anniversary of the founding of independent Czechoslovakia. Over 800 representatives of the Indian Government, public authorities, members of the diplomatic community and private sector of both countries took part in the celebration.
The Reception was honored by the presence of General V. K. Singh, Honorable State Minister for External Affairs of the Republic of India.
In his remarks, the host of the event, Ambassador Milan Hovorka, said: “Exactly ninety-seven years are two days ago, on October 28th 1918, a free and independent Czechoslovakia came into being. A long-term ambition of our great nation for a self-governing state was finally fulfilled. And despite later dissolution of the federation into the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic, the October 28th continues to be remembered in the Czech Republic as the most important day in its modern history.”

H. E. Milan Hovorka also pointed out that the National Day Reception provided an excellent opportunity to celebrate a true partnership between the Republic of India and the Czech Republic. He observed “The Republic of India and the Czech Republic are like minded countries on a number of international issues. They develop thriving trade and economic cooperation, expand people-to-people contacts, as well as culture exchanges.” Ambassador went on to assure that as a new representative of his country to India, he stood committed to do his utmost to take the Czech Republic - India partnership to a higher level.
Milan Hovorka also highlighted the tremendous support of the Czech business community and other partners in India for the National Day Reception and expressed his gratitude for their generous contributions.
The Reception, portrayed to celebrate the partnership between the Czechs and the Indians and their friends, was featured by the joint performance of the Czech National Anthem by the Czech singers Misha Noskova and Elishka Okhmanova and the Indian Swar Trishna Choir, led by Mr. Sudhanshu Bahuguna. Colorful cultural program further consisted of the concerts of the artists mentioned and live art jewelry show, show-casting the combination and fusion of the Czech and the Indian jewelry.
The successful Jewellery fashion show held in the compound of the Embassy of Czech Republic in New Delhi was conceived and organised by the Czech company PRECIOSA, Indian designer Parul Bhatia and the students of the Czech language of the University of Delhi led by their Professor Ms. Hana Koubkova. The main idea behind this show was to showcase Czech & Indian jewellery and its beauty. For this show, the Czech company PRECIOSA, "The Indian collections by Parul Bhatia" and Prof. Hana Koubkova collaborated together and presented beautiful art pieces. Parul & her team groom and trained the students and were fresher for the ramp walk. Parul Bhatia is based in Delhi and holds a good name for her designer pieces in the form of jewellery and furniture.
The beautiful evening, which was accompanied by traditional Czech and Indian culinary specialties, ended with the rocking performance of the band Black Slade from Delhi.
