Inauguration of new premises of the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Dhaka

During the implementation of the project of economic diplomacy focused on presentation of Czech companies active in the field of energy and transport, Ambassador Miloslav Stašek attended the opening ceremony of the new premises of the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Dhaka.
Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic Mr. A.S.M. Mohiuddin Monem was officially appointed and introduced into the office on October 28, 2014, when the Ambassador last visited to Bangladesh. As a newly appointed Honorary Consul Mr. Monem signed the Declaration of a Honorary Consul and received the original of the Consular Patent, the Instruction for the Exercise of Consular Functions and a Certificate of a Honorary Consul. Honorary Consulate in Dhaka, therefore, commenced its activities for the public since the date of appointment, ie. September 28, 2014.
On April 16, 2015, was held festive inauguration the new premises of the Czech Honorary Consulate in Dhaka that were presented to public at a gala opening reception. Besides the representatives of local diplomatic and business circles as the main guest of the evening the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohammad Shahriar Alam graced the inauguration with his presence.
The new premises are located on the ground floor of the Monem Business District in downtown Dhaka (HC address unchanged) and for the public are clearly marked with a national emblem and a flag of the Czech Republic. Consulate facilities also include several representative meeting rooms for business meetings and premises suitable for cultural presentation of the Czech Republic.
