Promotor of Philippine-Czech tourism awarded

Ms. Irene Bernadette "Menchie“ Gregorio, Managing Director of Travel Excellence Corporation was awarded the Medal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic for her contribution to Czech-Philippine relations in the field of tourism.

The Medal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for important personalities who significantly aided mutual understanding between the Czech Republic and the Republic of the Philippines and helped development of the relations between both countries and people was presented by Jaroslav Olša, jr., Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Philippines. Ms. Gregorio accepted the honour during the travel and tourism promotion event hosted by four Central European tourism promotion agencies.

The medal for Ms. Gregorio is not a suprise, as she has been in the airline industry for over 36 years, of which 27 years have been dedicated to promoting Central Europe, and the Czech Republic in particular as a travel destination for Philippine tourists. Ms. Gregorio, a graduate of BA in Communications at Marynoll College has also led the GSA representation of Czech Airlines in the Philippines for more than two decades. A pillar of Czech-Philippines relations, she started the trend of Filipino travel to Prague and the rest of Central and Eastern Europe. 

Aside from promoting the Czech Republic, Ms. Gregorio also represented Aerolineas Argentinas for almost two decades, and since 2011 has been the official representative of Aeromexico in the Philippines. Ms. Gregorio is  also an active member of the La Camara of Spain, the  Philippine Italian Association, Mexican-Philippine Business Council  and  a Committee  Member on Tourism  of the ECCP-EU-Philippines Business Network (EPBN).
