Opera concert of Ms. Noema Erba, Czech soprano

Last March 12th, 2012, the Czech Embassy Manila proudly hosted its major cultural event for the year entitled “The Jewels of European Opera” featuring Czech soprano Ms. Noema Erba and distinguished Philippine artists, tenor Mr. Conrado Ong III and pianist, Dr. Augusto Espino.
Ms. Noema graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor and Masters degree with specialization in Opera Voice studies from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (2006).
Since then, she has performed in various venues in Europe. Highlights of her career include winning second prize in E. Destinnova’s International Vocal Competition in 2006 (Czech and Slovak Music) in London, and being a finalist in 2007’s Hariclea Darclées International Vocal Competition in Romania.
Hosted by the Czech Embassy Manila, the year 2012 found Ms. Erba staging her first concert in Asia in partnership with Travelife magazine and Dusit Thani Manila.
The evening witnessed members of the diplomatic corps, VIPS, distinguished guests, patrons of Philippine culture and art, valued partners and Travelife’magazines loyal readers coming together to enjoy a repertoire of songs composed by the great European composers, Dvorak, Lehar, Mozart, Puccini and Verdi. The audience were treated to several encores including a piece from ‘My Fair Lady’ and all-time Filipino favorite “The Prayer” a duet popularized by Celine Dion and Andreas Bocelli. The evening came to a close with “Time to Say Goodbye,” sung in English and Italian.
