The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Manila participated at the 7th year of the European children’s festival, “Lakbayin Natin ang EU,” which took place in Museo Pambata on 16 May 2015.
For “Lakbayin Natin ang EU,” the general idea is for participating member states to provide kind of virtual journey introducing the respective European countries to local children through exhibits, storytelling sessions, art workshops, films, games, and other fun activities. This year, over 100 children had the opportunity to experience the rich culture of participating member states—one of which is the Czech Republic.
The Czech Republic session taught children a few Czech words through a song and dance routine and offered art-making periods and games that featured Czech’s unique culture.
The program is a part of the Viva Europa 2015 cultural festival which aims to celebrate the founding of the European Union and showcase the best of European Union's arts, music, dance, film, languages and poetry. The festival is organized yearly by European member states and cultural institutions.
