Czech Envoy visits Bikol

Czech Ambassador H.E. Jana Šedivá and Economic and Trade Counsellor Mr. Benjamin Žiga visited Legazpi City, Naga City, and the Municipality of Pili, Camarines Sur on 27 - 30 July 2019 to strengthen economic and cultural relations in the region.
During the visit, Czech Ambassador Mrs. Jana Šedivá and Trade Counsellor Mr. Benjamin Žiga met with the City Mayors of each local government of Legazpi and Naga to discuss areas for partnership. They also met with the Archbishop of Naga City and the Presidents of Ateneo de Naga University, Unibersidad de Sta Isabel, and the Pili Parochial School where various activities in their respective institutions were prepared such as forum and dialogue with the students.
Apart from the cultural and educational perspective, the Czech envoy also met with the Chambers of Commerce in each city to discuss business opportunities in the Czech Republic and also to know more about businesses in Naga City and Legazpi City.
The visit was done in conjunction with the opening of the "Meanwhile, Elsewhere" - 100 Years of Czech Comic Exhibit in Ateneo de Naga University. The exhibit is set to go around the Bicol region´s educational institutions until January 2020.
Czech Ambassador also participated as a speaker on “Cities of Magic, Islands of Imagination” together with multi-awarded writers Tito Valiente and Kristian Sendon Cordero at the Universidad de Santa Isabel.
