The visit of three Czech poets Jitka Bret Srbová, Ondřej Lipár and Olga Stehliková will take place on 3rd – 4th November as part of the project Czech Scottish Poetry Connections, devised and produced by Literature Across Frontiers. The poets will join their Scottish counterparts Rob Mackenzie, Niall O’Gallagher and Alycia Pirmohamed, following a series of online encounters during which they explored each other’s work through translation. Their programme will take them to Glasgow and Edinburgh. In Glasgow, they will appear at Glasgow University’s newly opened Advanced Research Centre (ARC) and read together with local poets in the regular Mirrorball Showcase readings, before travelling to Edinburgh where they will feature in the programme of the Push the Boat Out Festival. The Scottish poets will travel to Prague on 14 – 18 November to pay their Czech colleagues a reciprocal visit and make an appearance in the Václav Havel Library on 15th November and at Charles University on 16th November.
