Celebrating Czech Music: The Bollington Festival Brass Quintet Concert

Performance by the Bollington festival brass quintet was held in Bollington as a component of the Year of Czech Music 2024.
At the Bollington Arts Centre on Sunday, February 25th, 2024, the Bollington Festival Brass Quintet, marking its 60th anniversary this year, showcased a diverse repertoire comprising works by renowned Czech composers and arrangements of traditional Czech folk songs.
The quintet, under the direction of Donald Judge, presented compositions by esteemed figures including Jan Dismas Zelenka, Bedřich Smetana, and Antonín Dvořák. Additionally, during the course of the evening, pieces by Josef Suk and Bohuslav Martinů were performed, alongside works by other notable composers from around the world.
The concert was supported by Czech Consulate General in Manchester as part of the Year of Czech Music 2024.
