Summer Schools of Slavic Studies 2026

The Summer Schools of Slavic Studies (SSSS) for 2026 offer scholarships for applicants interested in participating in summer courses focused on Slavic languages and cultures.

For applicants from Luxembourg, one scholarship is available at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno, running from 18 July to 15 August 2026.

The courses are intended for foreign students, professionals (teachers, translators, interpreters), and academic staff in the fields of Czech studies and Slavic studies who are over 18 years of age. Owing to their broad scope, the courses are also open to all those interested in the Czech language, literature, history, and culture. The programme includes Czech language courses at various levels of proficiency, seminars focused on Czech literature, culture, and history, as well as leisure activities such as theatre, music and dance performances, excursions, study trips, and similar events.

Information and Applications

Detailed information on the Summer Schools of Slavic Studies (SSSS) is available on the website of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS) HERE.

Applicants may submit their scholarship application via the form available on the MEYS website HERE.

The completed application, together with a CV, must be submitted to the relevant embassy or other selecting institution by 15 March 2026.

Selection and Nomination of Scholarship Holders

The selection of scholarship holders is carried out by the embassy or a partner institution. MEYS subsequently respects the nominations.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age and nominated to a school listed for their country.

Applicants who are not selected may be nominated as substitutes.

For 2026, one scholarship place is available for applicants from Luxembourg at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University in Brno (course dates: 18 July – 15 August 2026).

The scholarship, covering participation costs, is provided by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS) directly to the respective university.

Important Dates

  • 15 March 2026: Opening of the online registration portal – registration must be completed by 15 April 2026
  • 31 March 2026: Deadline for submitting nominations to MEYS
  • May–July 2026: Universities contact scholarship holders and substitute candidates

Additional Information

If a participant is unable to attend the course, it is necessary to inform MEYS and the respective university so that a substitute candidate may be contacted.
