On 21 March, the world observes the International Day of Forests. The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka joined this year’s celebrations with an interactive educational programme held a day earlier for the students of Kabulonga Girls’ School.

The morning program included a symbolic tree planting ceremony with the participation of the Ambassador, representatives of the school, the Ministry and the students. This was followed by an engaging educational presentation on why forests matter and what practical steps individuals can take to help protect them. The students also performed an impressive poem and had the opportunity to experience virtual reality technology showcasing how Czech innovations support environmental efforts in Zambia.

Forests are more than just trees — they are essential to our shared future. The Czech Embassy in Lusaka is proud to support environmental education and inspire young people to care for the planet.
