The Czech Republic has recently undertaken a key initiative in the health sector by sending a medical mission to Zimbabwe and Zambia from December 4th to 8th. This mission aimed to introduce Czech health solutions in Zimbabwe and explore health sector opportunities in Zambia.
Engagement in Zimbabwe
On December 5th, the Cresta Lodge hotel in Zimbabwe hosted a business presentation titled "Czech Health Solutions for Zimbabwe". This event showcased Czech medical advancements and facilitated individual B2B meetings with potential Zimbabwean business partners. The Chief Director in the Ministry of Health and Child Care of Zimbabwe, Dr. Maxwell Hove, participated in the presentation, indicating the importance of this Czech initiative for Zimbabwe's health sector.
Collaborative Efforts in Zambia
In Zambia, the Czech delegates met with the Honourable Sylvia Masebo, Minister of Health, and other ministry officials, discussing potential collaborations. A notable event was the donation of an ambulance car by Czech company Royax to the Women and Newborn Hospital at the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka.
Additionally, the Czech Health Technology Institute presented a concept for the Center of Excellence project to representatives of the European Union and the World Bank. This project aims to combine development cooperation with Zambia, focusing on improving the capacities of the Zambian health system.
