Small local projects are an integral part of the Czech Republic's development cooperation not only in Zambia, Malawi and Zimbabwe. Every year the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka announces the possibility of submitting project proposals through identification forms. 

Conditions for submitting Small Local Projects include: 

1. The applicant must be an entity legally registered in Zambia/Malawi/Zimbabwe, and whose main activity is non-profit (e.g. local NGOs, civic associations, local academic institutions working on local projects; organizations and agencies whose activities focus on local development). The applicant must be eligible to sign a contract with the MOFA that establishes jurisdiction under Czech law and Czech courts and must not be a central administrative body, political party or movement;
2. The evaluation criteria are mainly the developmental contribution of the project to the local community, sustainability, the amount of co-financing and the cost-effectiveness of the project proposal. The involvement of Czech technological solutions, know-how, cooperation with Czech entities, etc. is an advantage (but not a condition). 
3. Grant amount: minimum 200 000, - CZK and maximum 500 000, - CZK. The total amount for personal expenses and travel, insurance, etc., must not exceed 25% of the total cost.

To send a project proposal, please proceed as follows: 

1. Fill in the electronic identification form at this link: https://forms.office.com/e/MfRcBCt2hR 
2. Fill in the physical identification form attached to this call. The information on the physical and the electronic identification form should not differ. Send the following documents to the lusaka.development@mzv.gov.cz  
(a) a signed copy of the physical identification form
(b) a copy of the proof of legal personality
(c) a copy of proof that the person submitting the objection is authorised to act on behalf of the organisation
3. Send all the above listed attachments by post to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Lusaka, 4 Twin Palm Road, Kabulonga, Lusaka, Zambia.
Implement steps 1. and 2. at the same time. Please note that sending the original identification form to the Embassy is a necessary part of the application for a Small Local Project. 

By submitting the application the applicant agrees with GDPR conditions attached. 

The deadline for submitting project proposals electronically and physically on the attached identification form is 22 September 2024. Applications received after this deadline will not be accepted. 

The Embassy of the Czech Republic expects the results of this call to be published in December 2024.
