ABOUT THE FILMS:
Adam Martinec’s feature debut Our Lovely Pig Slaughter (Czech title: Mord) depicts a custom called zabíjačka in which the annual killing and eating of a pig invites celebration for the whole family. The film premiered at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival in Prague last summer, and will have its U.S. premiere at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Tuesday, February 11th. The film will also have an LA screening on February 8th.

Our Lovely Pig Slaughter has received considerable critical acclaim since its debut at KVIFF, garnering 10 Czech Lion nominations from the Czech Film and Television Academy (ČFTA), the third-highest of any film or series.

“A remarkably incisive study of the Czech temperament which, through its visceral character portrayal and searing humour, evokes the masterworks of the Czechoslovak New Wave” (Natálie Kozáková, KVIFF).

PARKING:
Free street parking or a parking structure is accessible at 100 North Crescent Drive just north of Wilshire Blvd. Attendees can park in any open spot. Validated parking available for 5 USD.
