The Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Los Angeles, in partnership with Belmont Village Senior Living Westwood and the Czechoslovak Society of Arts and Sciences in Los Angeles, is delighted to invite you to the opening of an exhibition celebrating the work and life of "Henry Leopold Richter - Czech-American Plein Air Painter,"
The exhibition is curated by Ms. Katřina Slavíková, former Exhibition Register and Project Manager of the Kunsthalle Prague, and will be personally opened by Amb. Jaroslav Olša, Jr., Consul General of the Czech Republic in Los Angeles, and the artist's granddaughter Ms. Gail Jacobs.

ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Henry L. Richter (Jindřich Leopold Richter)
Born October 22, 1870 in Plumenau, died March 11, 1960, in Rolling Hills
Born to a family of a German father and Czech mother, Richter moved with his family to the United States around 1887 and settled in Chicago. His prolific career produced paintings of European scenes, Colorado mountains during his extensive sketching trip around Gunnison area, California landscapes and desert scenes, when he moved to the Pacific coast, and portraits in both oil and watercolor.
