Tragic events at Charles University in Prague

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in London was shocked to learn of the tragic events at the Faculty of Arts of the Charles University in Prague. Our thoughts, prayers and deepest sorrow go out to all the families and friends of the innocent victims of this senseless act. We greatly appreciate the support and condolences that the Embassy and its staff are receiving from the British public. The government has declared Saturday 23 December a day of mourning. Flags at the Czech Embassy in London fly at half-mast and a book of condolences has been set up online at condolences@mzv.gov.cz.
