The war veteran Mrs. Anděla Haida passed away

We regret to announce with deep sadness that on 7 April 2018, Mrs. Anděla Haida died in London at the age of 104.

Mrs. Haida was the oldest Czechoslovak war veteran who during the Second World War served as a driver at the Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF).

In June 2017, the President of the Czech Republic, Miloš Zeman, awarded Mrs. Haida the Medal for Bravery.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in London would like to express to Mrs. Haida´s family and all other bereaved persons its deep and sincere sympathy.
