The war veteran Col. Rudolf Čapek passed away

The Czech Embassy in London regrets to announce with deep sadness that on 24 October 2017 Colonel Rudolf Čapek Ret. died at the age of 98.
 

Col. Rudolf Čapek was a former member of the 2nd tank battalion of the Czechoslovak Armoured Brigade and participated in the siege of Dunkirk. He was awarded several decorations and medals including the Medal for Heroism by the Czech President Miloš Zeman in June 2017.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in London would like to express to Col. Čapek´s family its sincere and deep sympathy.

The last farewell to the deceased takes place on 2 November 2017 at 2:30pm at the Military Cemetery in Brookwood.
