On June 21, 2023, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský visited London, where he spoke at the Reconstruction Conference for Ukraine. In his speech, he affirmed the government's commitment to insure the export of Czech companies to Ukraine.
"We know that one day the war will end and it will be necessary to restore everything that was destroyed by the Russian aggression. It is necessary to find the right ways to restore Ukraine and ensure the safety of investments in the country," said Minister Lipavský at the conference, which was also attended by representatives of Czech companies. The head of Czech diplomacy subsequently spoke at a round table entitled "Investment Opportunities and De-Risking Mechanisms to Mobilize Private Finance in Ukraine".
"The Czech private sector is very interested in participating in the reconstruction of Ukraine and is already doing so in many cases. From our point of view, it would be best to connect national and international investment schemes so that through them Ukraine can get access to the most useful products and technologies," he added.
On the sidelines of the conference, Minister Lipavský met with his British counterpart James Cleverly and Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Julia Svyrydenko.
