Free Czechoslovak Airforce Association memorial ceremony at Brookwood

On Saturday 6 May 2017 a commemoration linked with the 72nd anniversary of the end of the Second World War organised by the Free Czechoslovak Airforce Association (FCAFA) took place at the Czechoslovak Memorial in Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey.

Among the attendants at  Brookwood were Czechoslovak WW2 veterans, family members and friends of the living and passed away Czechoslovak airmen or soldiers and representatives of the Czech and Slovak embassies in London.

Deputy Ambassadors of the Czech and Slovak Republic Mr. Jan Brunner and Mr. Imrich Marton and the Defence Attachés of the Czech and Slovak Republic Colonel Jiří Svatoš and Colonel Milan Gavlas addressed the attendants with speeches appreciating the role and bravery of the combatants who fought the Nazi tyranny.  

At the end of the ceremony all participants enjoyed small refreshments and snacks provided by the Embassy of the Czech Republic.
