Commemoration of the heroes of Battle of Britain

On 7th October 2021, the Assistant to the Defence Attaché of the Czech Republic participated, together with colleagues from DASSA - Defence Attaché Senior Staff Association, and with the kind accompaniment of Mr Tom Dolezal (FCAFA ltd.), A commemorative event for the heroes of the Battle of Britain. They first laid wreaths on behalf of the DASSA Association, the Embassy of the Czech Republic and the The High Commission of New Zealand.

After a brief tour of The National Memorial to the Few in Capel-le-Ferne, they all moved to the nearby town of Hawkinge, where they visited the Kent Battle of Britain Museum. This private museum is small in area, but respectable in terms of the scope of the collections. There are also many references to Czechoslovaks serving in the Royal Air Force during the Battle of Britain.

In the end, all participants, together with the museum manager Dave Brocklehurst MBE, took a photo at the Spirit of the Few banner to support the effort to create a unique sculpture in the museum.

In addition to the representative of the Czech Republic, members of the Defence Attaché Offices of Austria (President of DASSA), New Zealand, Argentina, Australia, Chile, Peru and Poland were represented at the event.
