On Friday June 16th, Ambassador Marie Chatardová took part in traditional Czech and Slovak Torah Scrolls Shabbat organised by the Arc Synagogue in Northwood.
The Arc Synagogue in Northwood enjoys closes relations to Czechia and Slovakia, as it became the new home of a unique Torah Scrolls collection that has been saved from Czechoslovak synagogues during the holocaust.
The synagogue is especially linked to Czech city of Kolín, with which it keeps lively cultural exchange. This year‘s Czech and Slovak Torah Scrolls Shabbat also welcomed a British launch of a new Czech book publish by the City, which follows the destinies of Kolín’s holocaust survivors.
