A soundproof conference room for offices, a Wi-Fi bench for smart cities and, a unique
gramophone - combining the art of sculpture with high quality electronics. These are just three of
the unique and fantastic products from the 12 Czech companies which exhibited at the London
Design Fair.
The London Design Fair took place in London from 19 to 20 September 2019. The Czech stand at the fair hosted a very successful business networking event on 20 September between the Czech companies and their (potential) British partners. Opening the event, Mr Aleš Opatrný, Head of the Economic and Commercial Section at the Czech Embassy in London mentioned that Czech crystal glass has been gracing the tables and cabinets at the British Royal Court and in stately homes for decades. He also said that Czech chandeliers and lighting have been widely used by British architects for a long time for projects in the UK and all over the world. In bringing design up to date he highlighted the Czech produced smart benches which are contributing to the “smartening” of British cities and public transport stops as a part of the smart cities concept and brought to the guests attention the Czech designed and made soundproof conference rooms which guarantee a quiet and confidential environment for important business meetings and which are doing very well all over the world.
The twelve Czech interior designers and producers of furniture and accessories were introduced to new British partners at the Czech stand by the CzechTrade office in London.
The ability of Czech producers to understand the needs of architects, interior designers and, designers of products precisely, quickly and flexibly, often in units, makes the partnership of British designers and Czech producers a great fit for global projects.
Over a long period London has become one the leading global design and architectural centres where new designs, projects and, concepts for developers all over the world have come into existence.
