On 23 June 2017, the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Edinburgh, Mr. Paul Millar, received the Gratias Agit Award from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Lubomír Zaorálek. The ceremony took place at the Černín Palace in Prague.
Since 1997, the Gratias Agit Award has been given to Czechs and friends of the Czech Republic who, through their long-term activities beyond their professional duties, deepen the interest in our country abroad and contribute to the spread of good reputation of the Czech Republic in the world. "I give tribute to the toughness, loyalty and lifelong work of the Gratias Agit Award winners and I take my hat off to them.", Minister Zaorálek said during the ceremony.
Mr. Paul Millar has been serving as Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Scotland with great dedication and tenacity for many years. We congratulate him most graciously for the Gratias Agit Award.
This year's Gratias Agit Award was handed over to 15 laureates, including, among others, conductor Jiří Bělohlávek (in memoriam) and speed skater Martina Sáblíková.
