On 28 June 2026, the traditional commemorative ceremony took place at the Bomber Command Memorial in London to honor the members of RAF Bomber Command who served and often gave their lives during the Second World War in the fight against Nazi Germany.
The ceremony commemorates more than 55,000 fallen airmen from the United Kingdom and other Allied countries, including Czechoslovakia.
The Czech Republic was represented at the ceremony by the Deputy Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United Kingdom, Ms. Irena Valentová, who laid a wreath at the memorial (together with H.E. Hamish Cooper of the High Commission of New Zealand and Ambassador Warren Stephens of the U.S. Embassy) in honor of Czechoslovak airmen who served in the RAF and all members of Bomber Command who contributed to the Allied victory in the Second World War.
