Ambassador Bartuška Meets the Speaker of the UK House of Commons

The Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United Kingdom, Václav Bartuška, met with the Speaker of the House of Commons of the UK Parliament, Sir Lindsay Hoyle. This was the first official meeting between the two representatives, aimed at a mutual introduction and at reaffirming the exceptionally close and above-standard relations between the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom
On this occasion, the Czech national flag was flown in front of the Palace of Westminster.
The meeting focused on the current state of Czech–British relations and on opportunities for their further development, particularly in the field of energy. Support for Ukraine was also a key topic, with emphasis placed on the Czech Republic’s assistance provided since the outset of Russian aggression. Both sides also agreed on the benefits of closer cooperation in the area of security between Europe and the United Kingdom.
