
Ambassador Václav Bartuška Begins His Mission in the United Kingdom

On Wednesday, 20 August 2025, H.E. Václav Bartuška presented copies of his credentials to the Vice-Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps at the Court of St. James’s, Mr Scott Furssedonn-Wood LVO. This officially marked the start of his mission as Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United Kingdom.
In his new role, Václav Bartuška draws on his extensive experience at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he served for more than nineteen years as Special Envoy for Energy Security and represented the Czech Republic in European institutions, in particular on the Board of Regulators of the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators. In the past, he also served as Government Envoy for the expansion of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant and was active in academic and lecturing work. In his current position, he aims to further strengthen the excellent relations with the United Kingdom, especially in addressing today’s security challenges, and to foster political, economic, and cultural cooperation.
