Mr. Zülküf Emre ÇÜNGÜŞLÜGİL was appointed Czech Honorary Consul in Izmir. His office performs foreign service in the consular district consisting of the Turkish provinces of Aydın, Denizli, Izmir, Manisa, Muğla and Uşak.

The Izmir Honorary Consulate´s office is located in the city center in the premises of the Izmir Marriott Hotel at Akdeniz Mahallesi, Alsancak, Gazi Bulvarı No:1, 35210 Konak / İzmir, Türkiye.

Given the importance and potential of the three-million metropolis of Izmir and the entire region, the Honorary Consulate in Izmir will focus on the development of Czech-Turkish relations primarily in the areas of trade, education, academic cooperation and culture; from the consular agenda it will in particular help Czech citizens in need and issue them replacement travel documents if needed.

The opening ceremony in the restaurant on the roof terrace of the Marriott Hotel was attended by approximately 150 distinguished guests from business, diplomacy, local administration and culture. The evening was accompanied by live music by a local swing band, and the guests also highly appreciated the Czech Budvar beer on tap.
