Successful Screening of Czech animated movie “Tony, Shelly and the Magic Light” at The Black Hole in Islamabad

On the 16th of May, Islamabad had the privilege of hosting the screening of the enchanting Czech animated movie, "Tony, Shelly and the Magic Light," at the renowned venue, The Black Hole. This event was a significant highlight of the 3rd edition of the EU Film Festival, showcasing the vibrant cultural exchange between Europe and Pakistan. The screening was made possible through the joint efforts of Olomopolo Media, the EU Delegation to Pakistan, the Czech Embassy, and Czech Centres, under the banner of the public diplomacy initiative, Czech That Film.

The animated feature "Tony, Shelly and the Magic Light," captivated the children in the audience with its unique storytelling and stunning visual artistry. The film, acclaimed for its imaginative narrative and artistic excellence, tells the heartwarming story of a young boy, Tony, and his magical adventures with Shelly. It stands as a testament to the rich tradition of Czech animation, a genre celebrated for its innovation and creativity.

The EU Film Festival aims to promote cultural diversity and foster mutual understanding through the medium of cinema. The Czech Embassy is proud to have participated once more with yet another animated feature for children, thanks to the support of local partners Olomopolo Media, the EU Delegation to Pakistan, and Czech Centres through the Czech That Film initiative. This initiative not only promotes Czech culture but also encourages dialogue and collaboration in the cinematic arts.

The second screening of "Tony, Shelly and the Magic Light" is scheduled for the 12th of June at Gujrat University, Gujrat. This screening had been postponed due to the severe heatwaves currently striking the province of Punjab.
